So you want to be an exchange student. What's next?
•1. First and foremost you will need the sponsorship of your local Rotary Club. Each club should have a Youth Exchange Officer designated by their club President. If you are unable to make contact send the district committee a short note by using this "contact us" button and tell us where you live and what high school you are attending.
•2. Download the Long Term Application. Most of it can be filled in and saved to your computer. The school recommendations and transcripts need to be obtained. The medical and dental forms need to be completed. HINT, complete one copy and make three more copies before you, your parents and doctors sign the applications. We need four complete applications.
•3. Complete the Supplemental Application. This program doesn't work unless we can exchange with another Rotary District abroad. To do this, your local Rotary Club needs Host Families(yes your family can host while you are away). Submit this application to your local Rotary Club and bring a copy of it to the District Interviews.
•4. Be prepared to be interviewed by your local Rotary Club. This is your opportunity to tell them how important being an exchange student is to you. Know a little about what Rotary is all about before the interview.
•5. When the local Rotary Club endorses your application, have them send them to Max Rose. His name and address should be on the front of the application.
•6. When Max receives your applications he hill call you to set up a time for your District Interview. This will take place on November 14th at DeSales University in Center Valley. At least one parent should accompany you, both are preferred.
•7. If you have any questions please contact Elaine Caltabiano-Schneider.
